Dr. Nicholas P. Sisto, Full Professor at the Centro de Investigaciones Socioeconómicas (CISE) of the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila (Saltillo, Mexico) is spending the winter 2019 semester with the School teaching International Finance and Macroeconomics at the Lakeshore Campus. The work analyzes the regional economic and social effects of tobacco and alcohol excise taxes in Mexico. The project involves a Master’s thesis in Regional Economics at Dr. Sisto’s home institution with Dr. Gendron acting as co-director of the thesis. The Master’s candidate, Carlos Milanes, holds a B.A. in pure mathematics and is a Cuban national. This internationalization initiative marks the beginning of a long-term, productive collaboration between The Business School and CISE.
