As a tribute to Canada’s 150th Anniversary, the Humber Fashion Institute and the Fashion Management and Promotions program, presented the exhibit, “100 Years of Heritage Fashion”. This exhibit of vintage Male and Female fashion spans 100 years of Canada’s fashion history (from the 1880s to the 1980s) and has been loaned to the Institute by Mr. Robert Wain.

The exhibit was led by Wayne McLennan, Professor of Visual Merchandising, with the assistance of the collector, Robert Wain and Rossie Kadiyska, Program Coordinator. Twenty students from the Visual Merchandising class of the Fashion Management and Promotions Program volunteered and worked Friday evening to set up the exhibit and Saturday during the day to host and clear the exhibit.

The exhibit received excellent feedback from the community. Many visitors expressed their gratitude towards the exhibit and commented that it allowed them and the community to connect with the beauty of fashion. The students were honoured to welcome their first visitor, Alvina Cassiani, Dean of the Business School and an ardent student and fashion supporter.
