On Thursday, October 11th, Business Marketing and Business Management students travelled to the Lakeshore campus for sales training with MLSE (Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment) and Camp Oochigeas. Students will be selling Marlies hockey tickets at a discounted price of $25 (regular price is $38) with $5 going to Camp Oochigeas. Students will also accept donations for Camp Oochigeas, which is a privately funded camp for kids with cancer and their families. Students will provide official receipts for those making donations of $25 or more to the Camp, and the Camp will provide a tax receipt at tax time.
Steve Bang started this assignment about 5 years ago. In total, Humber College students have raised over $100,000 for Camp Oochigeas and received excellent selling experience! Students are required to approach friends, family, professionals and businesses. Faculty and staff may be approached by students, who will be using their professional selling skills, and it would be great if they could support them in this experiential selling assignment by either buying tickets or donating. Students at both the Lake and North will be selling up until the week of Nov 12th.
