Ontario Skills Competition Team

On May 2nd, 2017, Divya M., a Business Management student, and Shawn M., a Business Administration student, represented the Humber Business School at the Skills Ontario Competition held at the Toronto Congress Centre.

The two students competed in the IT Office Software Application post-secondary category and were selected and coached by Business School faculty members Kelly Archibald and Hilda Gregorian. We’re very proud to announce that Divya M. came in third place in the competition and was awarded a bronze medal.

Skills Ontario is the largest skilled trade and technology competition in Canada. The competition’s mandate is to offer students the opportunity to showcase their unique skills and talents, as well as to foster their excitement about entering a career in a skilled trade.

Congratulations to both Divya and Shawn for their hard work and success at the competition. Also, special thanks to Carl Oliver and Tina Antunes from the School of Applied Technology for bringing the competition to the Business School’s attention and for generously arranging the competitor's accommodations.

While we are pleased with our achievement, next year we look forward to bringing home gold.
