Congratulations to the Faculty of Business community on completing another strong, successful academic year. Many students and staff ended the year on a high note with prestigious awards and accolades from peers and professionals in the industry, including a Gold win at Skills Canada and two faculty members receiving Humber’s Innovation of the Year Award. Additionally, this summer, Fashion students have the one-of-a-kind opportunity to complete their work experience in Italy.

Following the February visit of Rossie Kadiyska, Fashion Management and Promotions Program Coordinator, to Copenhagen School of Design and Technology, the first Fashion Management postgraduate student Karli Ihasz completed her sustainability internship in Denmark.
At the annual conference for the Society of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) held in Winnipeg, MB June 11 to 14 I had the privilege of representing the Faculty of Business.
The purpose of the Innovation of the Year Awards is to recognize college employees who have designed and implemented significant innovations that positively impact the education of students at Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
Elizabeth Abols, a student in the Business Administration Co-Op Program, has written a new book, titled Make Money the SMART Way. The book, which launched in June, has already won an award - "Helping Teens Become Successful" from the 10-10-10 Program.
Congratulations to Francis Derick Flores the Worldchefs Challenge Gold winner from Canada, who will go on to represent the Americas in Russia 2020 at the Worldchefs Congress. The competition was hosted at Humber and four lucky Humber Culinary students were chosen to support the competition and network with Worldchefs Level A judges.
On May 27th, students representing local high schools competed in the Stone Soup Cook-off hosted in Humber's Culinary Labs and judged by members of Toronto Police Service’s 12 Division and Toronto Public Health.

This summer 25 Fashion Arts and Business diploma students are completing their Field Placements abroad in Florence in partnership with FUA (Florence University of the Arts). The fashion business students are managing a boutique in the heart of Florence, FLY – Fashion Loves You.
Celebrating Your Success, a paralegal networking and reunion event, took place in the Humber Room on Thursday, May 23, 2019. Approximately 85 students from the Paralegal Education program and the Paralegal Graduate Certificate program who will be graduating in 2019 attended this year’s event in order to learn more about some of the unique and interesting opportunities in the paralegal field.
