April 10, 2019
On March 4, 2019, the Insurance Management Program (IMPG), and the Professional Golf Management, Business Administration program teamed up to pilot an introductory golf networking program. The event was a tremendous success as students and professors from the Professional Golf Management Program mentored IMPG students on the rules and techniques to play the great game of golf. Many may not know, but the two main sports that are most often played in the insurance industry are curling, and golf.
Through the game of golf many industry relationships are established, and larger business deals are negotiated.
Those new to the insurance industry including IMPG graduates often find themselves entering the industry, and playing in charity and company golf tournaments.
The second part of the evening saw IMPG Professor Kelly Hopkins discuss how to network and foster relationships, and discuss business in social settings like the golf course.
The Insurance Management Program would like to thank Professional Golf Management Professor extraordinaire Bob Beauchemin, and student mentors Jordan Tandan, and Aaron Veenstra for running the event.
Huge thank you also goes to IMPG Professor Kelly Hopkins, and Andrew Vento, PC of the Professional Golf Management Program for organizing this great event.
