May 5, 2017

VathananCongratulations Vathanan Jegatheesan, who has recently joined the Canadian Tamils' Chamber of Commerce (CTCC) as the Executive Director.

Vathanan is an International Development Graduate Certificate Alumni and has 5 years of experience as an Operations Manager for the Canadian Tamil Youth Development Centre (CanTYD).

He will be looking to expand CTCC membership base, add value to the members through innovative services, create better governance practices and establish a strategic partnership of the Chambers.

"Vathanan was always a highly committed student who wanted to make a difference to his family’s ancestral home and here in Canada. In his new role as the Executive Director of the Canadian Tamils Chamber of Commerce, he has found the role that will allow him to do just that. Since graduating, Vathanan has maintained contact with Humber providing placements for students and playing a role in our year-end simulation exercise." - Susan MacGregor, International Development Graduate Certificate Program Coordinator

Vathanan’s achievement is motivating for students who represent minority groups or for new Canadians. He has shown the potential way that graduates can capitalize on their cultural and linguistic heritage to contribute to Canada’s economy and also to support their cultural community.
