NEW FACULTY ANNOUNCEMENTS

August 24, 2017

As this new academic year begins, we're excited to welcome new and returning faculty to The Business School. These professors all share a passion for teaching, an extensive list of academic credentials and years of experience working in high-ranking roles in fields like Marketing, Law, Finance and more. Welcome to the team!

Fabian Marks

Fabian is a dedicated faculty member who brings over 20 years of experience in Marketing, both in the multinational packaged goods sector and the international banking sector. Fabian received his Honours B.A. from Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario, and followed that up with an MBA from Ivey, with his major research study focused on International Joint Ventures. Fabian worked his way up the ranks at Unilever, with an emphasis on markets in the Caribbean and Latin America. Fabian went on to work as an Independent Marketing Consultant and then took on various Director positions at Scotiabank. To the benefit of The Business School, Fabian has taken all of this experience and his incredibly warm demeanour and channelled them into his teaching. Fabian has already proven to be an asset to the Marketing program, making significant contributions to the direction of the program and serving as a member of our Ontario Colleges Marketing competition coaching staff. Fabian continues to work hard to develop his teaching, focusing on student engagement and experiential learning. The Marketing faculty is extremely excited to welcome Fabian to the team as a full-time faculty member. You did it Fabian!

Steve Lorini

Steve is a living testament to the power of a Humber College education, as he is an alumnus and graduate of multiple credentials at Humber. Steve started by receiving the Marketing Diploma (the program in which he will primarily be teaching in his new role) and then built on that by completing the Business Administration Advanced Diploma, as well as CE certificates in Marketing and Management. Steve quickly followed this up by completing his Bachelor of Business degree (majoring in Marketing) from the University of Guelph and then again quickly followed that up by completing his MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University (majoring in Marketing Communications). What makes Steve all the more impressive is that he completed his studies while working full-time. Furthermore, Steve’s experience will be very interesting to our students, as much of his time was spent working in the sports and entertainment industry, with various positions with the Toronto Argonauts and Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment and, most recently, as Marketing Manager with Z103.5 and Evanov Radio Group. Steve’s experiences and creativity, in addition to his warm personality and dedication to being part of a team, will make him an excellent addition to The Business School. The Marketing faculty is extremely excited to welcome Steve to the team as a full-time faculty member. Welcome home, Steve!
