TJX Canada and Humber, London Calling

This was a very special window install for us because it is the first of its kind; a corporate sponsored window display featuring merchandise from Winners, HomeSense and Marshall's courtesy of our friends at TJX Canada. Alvina Cassiani, Dean, Humber College, The Business School and Connie McCulloch, Executive Vice President TJX Canada have forged a long term partnership that rewards talented students from Humber's fashion programs with employment opportunities at TJX Canada.

Students worked diligently shopping as many TJX locations in the GTA as possible to create the perfect looks for the window which featured English country cottage chic fashions to reflect the theme, "London Calling". Vintage trunks courtesy of HomeSense were purchased in volume to create an interesting travel prop for the mannequins who were perched on top of the trunks while viewing maps of the United Kingdom. The window display was professionally photographed and time lapse video was created to document the behind the scenes development of the window. Imagery offers students an amazing portfolio piece that they can use upon graduation when the search for meaningful work begins.

A follow-up event at The Fashion Institute on October 10th, 2013 introduced fashion students to the TJX Canada executive team. It was a great networking night for fashion students and a wonderful venue to showcase student work and the truly fabulous finds courtesy of Winners, HomeSense and Marshall's.

Humber Fashion students teamed up with TJX Canada to
bring a taste of London to the Fashion Institute.
