Special Scholarships and Application

Longo Faculty of Business offers five special scholarships in addition to the Humber awards and scholarships. Only full-time students enrolled in a program within the Longo Faculty of Business are eligible for these awards. Students must meet the minimum criteria as described below. Applications open in August of each year and will close in November.

Dean's Scholarship

Presented to a returning student within the Longo Faculty of Business. The recipient must have achieved an 85 percent or higher grade point average and have displayed academic excellence within the classroom and demonstrate leadership in their program of study, the broader Humber community, and outside the college.

Frank Franklin Scholarship

Presented to a full-time International Student within the Longo Faculty of Business who has displayed an outstanding commitment to their academic studies, extracurricular activities and who has shown perseverance in overcoming a barrier or challenge. Frank Franklin, former Director of International Programs who retired in 2005, has supported the achievements of many international Business students.

International Student Excellence Scholarship

Presented to a returning International student within the Longo Faculty of Business who has achieved exceptionally high grades, has demonstrated a strong dedication to their studies, and commitment to Humber’s campus life and the wider community. Participation can be proven through activities as follows but not limited to: athletics, residence, peer mentoring, cultural activities, and event planning.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship

Presented to a full-time student in the Longo Faculty of Business enrolled in any diploma or degree program of study. The applicant will self-identify as a member of an equity deserving group and demonstrate a passion for the program they are enrolled in.

Maggie Trott Business Research Scholarship

Presented to a full-time Longo Faculty of Business student who has demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for research, including mastery of research design, qualitative and quantitative data acquisition and analysis, and use of electronic sources. Maggie Trott was an invaluable resource to many business students as a long-time librarian at the Lakeshore Campus.

There are a wide range of scholarships and awards available to the Longo Faculty of Business students who have demonstrated academic excellence and/or student leadership in their academic programs and in the community. For those who qualify, Humber also offers a one-time scholarship of $2,500 ($1,250 each semester) - the only one of its kind in Canada. Giving to Humber

Awards and scholarships are donated by many of our individual and corporate supporters along with faculty, staff and administration. Scholarships and Awards range from monetary to program related gifts. Gifts to student awards and scholarships will help reduce a student’s financial burden, allowing them to work less, directly increasing their chances of success. Meet the 2021 Longo Faculty of Business Special Awards Winners

Longo Faculty of Business offers special awards in addition to the Humber awards and scholarships. Each award requires full-time students to meet the minimum criteria of a GPA above 80% cumulative and submit an essay describing their academic achievements.
