Embrace Lace
This window display, titled "Embrace Lace" ushered in the Spring/Summer season with a soothing array of blush toned feminine fashions with pretty pearl and lace embellishments.
Students from the Diploma, Degree and Post Graduate Fashion programs at Humber worked collaboratively to execute the stunning fashion imagery showcased in the window display prior to the installation. Sebastian Blagdon, Fashion Management Degree student spent several weeks constructing the intricate floral and tulle head pieces for the nine mannequins featured in the display. Alexandra Khan, Fashion Management and Promotions, Post Graduate student, spent hours carefully positioning 250 lace doilies on the floor of this 450 square foot space. A team of Fashion Arts and Business Diploma students suspended one hundred metres of tulle fabric, 80 strands of crystals and 35 lace umbrellas throughout the enormous space to complete the installation.
The street front location of The Fashion Institute, (located at the corner of Lakeshore Blvd West and Kipling) provides students with a high profile venue to showcase their incredible work and build their portfolios for future employment opportunities.
