The Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship
The Humber Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship is a key component in the Longo Faculty of Business' entrepreneurial teaching and learning strategies. This building is a hub of activity for brilliant minds and will connect students to The Start-Up Stop: Entrepreneurship Skills Based Training Program, Sprout: Intrapreneurship Skills Based Training Program, Ment2Lead mentorship program, Launch Me program and pitch competition, and to many other valuable resources. Become a Humber CfE member to register for their programs and to gain access to their great facility, which is also used to support our new postgraduate program in Entrepreneurial Enterprise.
This storefront building located at Lake Shore and Kipling provides a visual anchor for Humber’s commitment to linking the real world to the classroom. A street-level window display allows students and graduates to showcase their work.
With the launch of the Third Floor Fashion District at the North comes “The Pop-Up Shop”. A competitive venture where students can pitch ideas to book the space, set up shop, and put it to work for a week. We see this concept being utilized by our marketing students and event students, fashion students and even accounting students as well as groups of business school students who bring brilliant ideas to the table. We want our students to dream big and we are giving them the platform they need to test their entrepreneurial skills.
This full-service classroom and retail boutique is open to the public. Students manage the administrative functions as well as work under the guidance of qualified instructors providing facials, hand & foot care, and body treatments to clientele.
Humber’s Fashion Arts program is designed for students interested in the business side of fashion. This long running program boasts success stories from an impressive list of successful graduates. Students benefit from resources available specifically to the fashion programs. In the Fall of 2016, North Campus unveiled the Third Floor Fashion District where students found fashion focused classrooms, resource rooms, window showcases and the new Entrepreneurial Pop-Up Shop.
