Global Business Management Students Network with Alumni and Hiring Managers
Tue, November 06, 2018
Our Global Business Management 4th semester students had a busy October, as they attended two helpful panel discussions.
On the 16th the students engaged in a panel discussion with potential employers, including hiring managers from various organizations (Bell Canada, WalMart, KPMG, Air Canada, and the City of Toronto). The discussion was based on what current employers would be looking for in new graduates. The panelists also provided information on the importance of networking in order to “jump-start” a career in various industries.
The second panel event occurred on Oct 30. Six GBM alumni returned to Humber to discuss “life after graduation”. The alumni currently work in various positions in organizations such as Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Morneau Shepell, Loblaw Corporation, and Humber College. The panelist provided information for the graduating class that included the importance of setting goals and making sure that the placement that they target is aligned with their future goals.
Global Business Management Program Hosts Panel Discussion for 3rd Semester Students
Thu, June 14, 2018
The Global Business Management Panel event brought together our 3rd-semester students and committee members for a discussion.
The panel addressed the question of “What are the core 21st-century skills and competencies graduates need for success in today’s workplace?” and “How can graduates demonstrate these core skills and competencies to employers?” The members shared their insight into what students will be facing in the working world once they graduate. They provided information from their own industries (banking, portfolio management, entrepreneurship, consulting and sales) and the students engaged with the panel enthusiastically during a Q & A.
