On Nov 14th the two programs teamed up to launch the HR Community of Practice (HR COP) intiative, kicking things off with an energetic online event attended by 41 eager learners. The star of the session was the Senior Manager of Talent Management at Holt Renfrew, Janani Kulasingam, who shared an insider look at how AI is influencing the world of Human Resources.
While HR students were soaking in insights from the event, Hospitality – Event Management students were running the behind the scenes. Five hospitality students supported the event with a promotional poster and all things tech, from backstage logistics to webinar operations. Students got hands-on experience with virtual event production as if they were running a professional digital webinar.
The result was a smooth and engaging launch that set an exciting tone for the new HR Community of Practice while applauding the creativity and teamwork shared between the HR and Event programs. The HR COP will be hosting the next event at the end of January. Further details will be shared and posted.
The HR COP is a new initiative that has been launched for all students in any Human Resources program. The purpose of the HR COP is to bring students and professionals together to network, learn, and develop HR skills.
