What You Should Know To Get Started

Academic Requirements

A study abroad student must select courses that will fulfill the academic requirements of his/her home institution. Students can take up to 5 courses per semester and can choose a wide range of subjects from across many disciplines, but must take timetable and examination scheduling into consideration when making their selection. The study abroad coordinator at Humber can advise on study plans and subject selections.

Application Details

Students may apply directly through one’s home institute. Please note, typically we do not accept students into first-year or final-year studies.

Humber's semesters are scheduled as follows:

  • Fall term: September to the end of December
  • Winter term: January to the end of April.

All inbound study abroad students are asked to participate in Humber's Orientation program, which takes place directly before the start of term.

Tuition and Expenses

Students pay tuition to his/her home institution. A student will typically require living expenses of about $6,000 CAD for one academic semester at Humber.

On Campus Accommodation

There is an abundance of quality student accommodation in Toronto. This varies from private apartments to on-campus Humber student residences. On-campus accommodation can fill up very quickly, therefore, we advise that you reserve your accommodation as early as possible (before your arrival in September) to ensure that you secure a place.
