Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing degree students achieved first place in the 2023 Safe Roads Competition, showcasing their outstanding skills and expertise. On June 2nd, Julia Chehab, Rebecca Douglas, Dylan Bernier, Caleb Mills, and Fernanda Saraiva delivered a winning analysis during their presentation at Toronto Police Service.
Their award-winning analysis was based on comprehensive data sourced from Toronto Police and Geotab ITS, focusing on the impact of daylight savings time on the city's roads. Leveraging SAS software for their analysis, the students formulated practical and evidence-based recommendations to enhance safety on Toronto's streets. Their diligent work and insightful findings set them apart from numerous participating teams representing various colleges and universities across Canada and Mexico.
Securing the first-place position underscores the exceptional critical thinking, analytical prowess, and effective teamwork exhibited by these accomplished students. This remarkable achievement also highlights the invaluable guidance and mentorship provided by Professor Na Sui, who has played a pivotal role in the students' success. Notably, this marks the third time that Professor Na Sui's students have claimed first-place honours out of the five years this competition has existed.
