Ozias Cantos, a Digital Business Management student, and Brandy Laurent, a Marketing student from Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce programs, achieved an impressive second-place finish at the ACE Laurier Charity Case Competition, hosted by Wilfrid Laurier University.

Sponsored by Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization, the competition challenged participants to design a program addressing food waste and developing sustainable packaging solutions across the supply chain. Ozias and Brandy’s proposal, “Smart Packaging,” stood out for its innovation and alignment with Second Harvest’s three-year Strategic Plan. Inspired by a Good Design Award-winning concept from Japanese agency TO-GENKYO, their solution showcased creativity, practicality, and a forward-thinking approach.

Their presentation was judged by a distinguished panel comprising leaders from the industry, academia, and non-profit sectors, who commended the team’s ingenuity and strategic insight.

Both Ozias and Brandy are executive members of ACE Humber and actively encourage new members to join their dynamic team.

Congratulations to Ozias and Brandy on this remarkable achievement!
