Digital Business Management and Marketing Students Lead the Way at ACE Humber’s Annual Case Competition

The Winter semester kicked off with the annual ACE Humber Case Competition, an event organized entirely by students and designed to create meaningful opportunities to learn from industry leaders, network with professionals, and apply classroom knowledge through competition.

The conference, sponsored by IBM and Osmow’s, was led by Bachelor of Commerce - Digital Business Management students Ozias Cantos (Co-President of ACE Humber) and Krizzia Cojuangco (Co-President), alongside Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing student Brandy Laurent (Vice President). They were supported by an executive team that included Mysha Khan, Roman Kazhadan, Daniil Trefilin, Khrystyna Boiko, Arina Volkova, Sara Barbosa, Alen Harambasic, Pavit Khangura, Alexander Atahue, Leah Nkweto Kasolo, Franco M., Bhevishta Jaitoo, and Encilio Simbine.

Organized by students, for students, the conference brought together participants from disciplines ranging from accounting to marketing, reinforcing the value of interdisciplinary thinking. The theme, “Leading with Innovation,” guided both the speaker sessions and the case competition.

The event featured Ben Osmow, CEO of Osmow’s, who shared insights into scaling the business from two locations to more than 230. Piotr Mierzejewski from IBM explored how AI can support student success, outlining a practical roadmap for becoming “prompt gurus.” The Ascend Canada Panel – Leading with Innovation & Inclusive Leadership brought together Ascend Canada members from TD, Nascent, and Cognizant to discuss how innovative and inclusive leadership shows up in practice.

The conference concluded with a case competition that challenged students to apply their skills in a high-impact, real-world context. Winners included:
