On November 10th, the Greater Toronto Hotel Association (GTHA) celebrated its landmark tenth annual Spirit Awards at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, extending an exclusive opportunity to Hospitality and Tourism Operations Management students to attend and support the event. Known for recognizing exceptional achievements in the Greater Toronto Area's hotel industry, the Spirit Awards gathered nearly seven hundred attendees, including hotel owners, managers, staff and industry partners.

This year, the event shone a spotlight on eighteen award recipients, a testament to their excellence amidst a record of three hundred and eighteen nominations, covering diverse facets of hotel operations and services.

Students from the Hospitality – Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management and the Hospitality and Tourism Operations Management programs played integral roles in the event's execution. Their responsibilities ranged from behind-the-scenes preparations to the cordial reception of guests, efficient management of the registration desk, facilitation of nominees, and active engagement across social media platforms throughout the duration of the gala.

A special thanks to students Cassandra Ayres, Neha Nehere, Belva Li, and Sushma Ajaykumar Bisen for their full-day commitment to the event.
