The Humber Fashion Institute is a lively, charismatic place, buzzing with students exchanging ideas, be it in the lounge, computer lab, or anywhere else inspiration might spark. The street level, store front window facilitates merchandising.
The Fashion Institute embraces all Fashion Business Management related programs provided by the Business School, including Cosmetics Management, Esthetician/Spa Management, Fashion Arts and Business, the Bachelor of Applied Business Degree in Fashion Management and The Fashion Management and Promotions Postgraduate programs. The Institute was created to provide a unique educational environment for students looking at careers in the fashion and beauty industry.
The building comes equipped with mannequins, rolling racks, hanging fixtures, shelving units and all manner of things the students might need to create real-world mock-ups, including a boardroom with a dropped ceiling for hanging merchandise. Students learn to work with a budget to design, source materials, and build their own space.
The Fashion Institute’s front window facilitates merchandising, while its atrium is ideal for visual and store presentation. The space is also “slat-boarded” for hanging features, and it even has a clean-up space with a sink.
The Fashion Institute building, presently the hub of the degree program – which is one of the few degree programs that teaches both fashion and business fundamentals – hosts courses for students in their third and fourth years. It’s a lively, charismatic place, buzzing with students exchanging ideas, be it in the lounge, computer lab, or anywhere else inspiration might spark.
