HLOs:
Sport Business Management students showcased their talents at the Humber BEYOND Summit on April 9th, an annual event organized as part of their coursework. Third-year Sport Management Diploma students presented their innovative youth sport program ideas to a panel of judges from MLSE LaunchPad as well as alumni. Beginning with research and collaborative group work in the Fall term, students developed comprehensive business plans for their youth sport programs, delivering compelling pitches that impressed the judges. In January, students had the opportunity to visit the MLSE LaunchPad headquarters, engaging in activities that demonstrated physical literacy and social connection while gaining insights from the MLSE LaunchPad team, inspiring them with their impactful community work.
The event also featured two guest speakers, Shawn Small, Founder and President of RISE Integrated Sports + Entertainment, and Allison Forsyth, a former two-time Canadian Olympic skier and OLY – Generation Safe (Sport) Founder.
Congratulations to the six groups of finalists and winners, including Kareem, Melanie, Krish, and Julian, who received recognition from MLSE LaunchPad for their contributions.
Participation in the Sport Management MLSE LaunchPad Youth Sport Program Case Competition provided students with invaluable opportunities to enhance their entrepreneurship skills and connect with a network of mentors and peers.
A Special thanks to MLSE LaunchPad for their contribution and collaboration, empowering over a hundred sport managers to pursue their dreams.
