Students in the Professional Selling course have raised funds for Campfire Circle, a charity that helps children and families affected by childhood cancer in Ontario. The assignment required students to sell tickets to a trio of Toronto Marlies games or to collect donations for charity.
Through their efforts, a total of 439 tickets were sold, raising $5,522 in donations. One student, Arundhati Sudan, even auctioned off a piece of art for an impressive $2,000. Amanda Poggi, another Marketing Management student, emerged as the top ticket seller by employing smart strategies such as targeting construction company owners and promoting the event on Instagram. The students were later invited to a suite at a Marlies game where they were recognized for their efforts. Several students have since become volunteers for Campfire Circle.
