Hospitality and Tourism Students Explore Travel Industry Dynamics First-hand

To enrich their understanding of the travel and hospitality industry, the HTOM 500: Principles of Tourism and Hospitality cohort at the Humber International Graduate School (IGS) embarked on an experiential journey on September 28th. Led by their teacher, Anke Foller-Carroll, the group gained insights and firsthand knowledge of the travel sector.

Guiding them on this educational expedition were Karin Zabunyan, an accomplished travel business owner, and Alex Sein, a professional tour guide and an alumnus of the Longo Faculty of Business. Together, they provided valuable insights into the day-to-day operations of the travel business. The students received guidance on establishing strong client relationships throughout the sales process and learned the art of connecting guests to the land in their destinations through storytelling.

As they ventured through the tour, the students uncovered hidden gems of Toronto, located near the IGS, adding a layer of discovery and exploration to their educational journey.

The experience offered a glimpse into the real-world workings of the travel industry, empowering the students with practical knowledge to enrich their academic endeavours.
