Two Humber Hospitality Management graduates, Sofiia Dmytrenko and Prempreet Grewal, were invited to present on a panel at the third-annual Ontario Hotel Conference (OHC), organized by the Ontario Restaurant Hotel & Motel Association (ORHMA). Held at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel & Suites, the two-day event featured celebrations for new inductees into the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) and insightful discussions on topics such as property tax strategies, fraud protection, and the integration of AI into hospitality operations.
In the spotlight session, “Hear It From Them: Understanding, Motivating and Relating to the New Workforce in Hospitality”, Sofiia, currently the Guest Recognition Coordinator at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and Prempreet, Event Coordinator at Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites, joined industry leaders including Liana Carniello, CHRL, Director of Human Resources at Sheraton Centre, and Andrew Middleton, author and hospitality expert. The panel discussion focused on attracting and inspiring future talent in hospitality and exploring the dynamic opportunities available in the field. The conversation was lively and enriching, offering diverse perspectives from both the educational and professional sides of the industry.
Throughout the discussion, the panellists shared their journeys, highlighting the many exciting and rewarding career paths the hospitality sector offers students and graduates alike. Their stories showcased the importance of passion, dedication, and adaptability in building successful careers in hospitality management.
Humber Polytechnic is proud of Sofiia and Prempreet for representing the Hospitality Management program and contributing to this inspiring conversation.
