Industry Experts Share Insights with Event Management Students

Hospitality – Event Management students had the opportunity to engage with top industry professionals at an exclusive networking panel on February 20. The event, held at Humber Polytechnic's North Campus, featured four panelists who shared their experiences and advice on breaking into the events industry.

The panel included:

  • Khyla Golea, Director of Social Media & Marketing at Easton’s Group of Hotels, who emphasized the importance of personal branding and personal relationships in the hospitality industry.
  • Dev Patel, Chef de Partie at Provisions Catering & Events, who provided insights into the fast-paced world of catering and how hands-on experience and humility is key to success.
  • Vince Bozzo, General Manager at Hamilton Convention Centre, who highlighted the significance of adaptability and teamwork in managing large-scale events.
  • Christian Bordon, National Account Manager at BBW Event Staff, who spoke from the heart as a past international student to others in the room on how they can also find success in Canada. 

Notably, Khyla Golea, Dev Patel, and Vince Bozzo are proud Humber graduates, demonstrating how the college’s programs effectively prepare students for successful careers in the industry.

The discussion covered essential topics such as networking, career growth, and industry trends. Students had the chance to engage in a Q&A session, gaining valuable knowledge and connections that could shape their future careers.

The event was a resounding success, reinforcing Humber's commitment to bridging the gap between education and industry through meaningful networking opportunities.
