In response to a shortage of donations at all Salvation Army Thrift Stores, Fashion Management graduate certificate students Josh Singh and Kiara Fearon, alongside Bachelor of Commerce – Fashion Management degree student Iren Minka, teamed up to address the industry dilemma. Tasked by the Salvation Army to engage younger audiences interested in sustainable and affordable fashion, the trio devised a strategic social media campaign to spark donation interest and promote thrift shopping.

Their concerted efforts yielded promising results, as evidenced by the staggering engagement their Instagram reels garnered, with one showcasing thrifted fashion amassing over 17.5k views and another spotlighting vintage tee styling reaching 3.5k views. These videos underscore a growing interest in sustainable fashion practices among viewers.

Further successes were recorded with videos thrifting for style and the importance of donating, drawing 1757 and 784 views respectively, reinforcing the advocacy for thrift shopping and the positive impact of donating.

This collaborative project served as a valuable learning experience, spotlighting the students' ingenuity and dedication while showcasing the impact fashion students can have when partnering with organizations like the Salvation Army Thrift Store to effect change.
