HLOs:
Humber’s Fashion Management postgraduate program partnered with The Salvation Army Thrift Store for its annual Secondhand September campaign, an initiative designed to raise awareness around sustainable fashion and conscious consumerism.
Representing Humber was postgraduate student Neha Rawat, a member of the Humber Styling Team, who curated looks and participated in a campaign photoshoot at the East York Thrift Store.
The campaign highlights the accessibility and creativity of secondhand fashion, showing that thrifting can be stylish, affordable, and environmentally responsible. From runway-ready ensembles to trending aesthetics such as quiet luxury, maximalism, soft girl, Y2K, and dark academia, the looks curated by Neha and her team demonstrate how thrifted clothing can inspire fashion-forward choices without compromising sustainability.
“Being part of the Secondhand September campaign was an incredible experience. I loved bringing my passion for fashion and sustainability to life in a way that supports a great cause. It’s amazing to see how thrifting can be both stylish and impactful.”
– Neha Rawat, Fashion Management Postgraduate Student
The collaboration was equally celebrated by The Salvation Army Thrift Store team.
“It was such a pleasure to collaborate with Neha, and we are proud to have had her as part of the campaign.”
– May Strutt, National Digital Marketing Manager – Canada, The Salvation Army Thrift Stores
Ongoing Collaboration
This project builds on Humber’s ongoing relationship with The Salvation Army Thrift Store, with Fashion Management post students contributing to styling, creative direction, and promotional content across multiple campaigns.
Call to Action
We encourage the Humber community to support and share the Secondhand September campaign throughout the month. Together, we can celebrate sustainable fashion while showcasing the talent and creativity of Humber students.
