Humber and University of Navarra Present Joint Fashion Management Research at 2024 Global Fashion Management Conference

Fashion Management faculty Vladimira Steffek and Rossie Kadiyska, in collaboration with the Fashion Business School at the University of Navarra, Spain, presented a developmental paper at the Global Fashion Management Conference, held in Milan from July 11-14, 2024. The paper, titled "Designing the Future: A Holistic Approach to Teaching Fashion Management in the 21st Century," explores the evolving needs of the fashion industry and the critical skills required for the future workforce.

Drawing on industry research and interviews with professionals in Spain and Canada, the study highlights the growing demand for soft skills such as teamwork, communication, resilience, and adaptability in fashion students. It also underscores the importance of innovative teaching methods that incorporate a holistic approach, engaging students on intellectual, practical, and emotional levels.

The findings suggest a shift towards more integrative and experiential learning models to better prepare graduates for the complexities of the modern fashion industry.
