Culinary Management Student Wins Canadian Hospitality Foundation Scholarship

Congratulations to Culinary Management student Angelique Ricketts for winning the 2021 Toronto Garlic Festival BIPOC Culinary $1,000 Scholarship.

The scholarship, managed by the Canadian Hospitality Foundation (CHF) provides a $1,000 grant to one culinary student from an eligible Ontario school who identifies as Black, Indigenous or person of colour and currently enrolled in a full-time program in their second year of a two-year culinary diploma program . The CHF is a charitable organization driven by industry leaders with a mission to reward students' passion and dedication to foodservice and/or hospitality and turn it into a lifelong career.

“Angelique is a dedicated, compassionate and ambitious culinarian always striving for perfection and knowledge to advance her skills,” said Greg Howe, Culinary Management program faculty member.

In addition to the scholarship, which will assist Angelique with tuition fees, she will also be invited to a Scholarship Award Ceremony to be officially honoured and meet her donor.
