The Business - Marketing program continues to provide students with innovative and informative learning opportunities through guest speakers and engaging class projects. Recently, Marketing students in the Retailing Management (MKTG 205) course were joined by User Experience (UX) Design and Emerging Technology Specialist David Neumann to explore the promotional aspect of their final project.
The focus of the presentation was on innovation in virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and mapping. David's Business-to-Consumer presentation highlighted the role of technology in enhancing customer experiences, which is increasingly vital in today's retail landscape.
As part of MKTG 205, students are tasked with creating a retail business that is differentiated from its competition and supported by trends in product and consumer behaviour. With David's guidance, students developed experiential marketing initiatives for their retail businesses, incorporating emerging technologies.
During the session, David showcased several examples of companies that have successfully used emerging technology to improve the customer experience, including Lululemon, Nike, IKEA, Amazon, and more. The students were able to gain valuable insights and inspiration from these examples.
