On April 3rd and 4th, Business - Marketing students teamed up with their counterparts from the Faculty of Media, Creative Arts and Design for a dynamic Curling Hack event. The challenge centred around devising marketing strategies for a real client: Street Curling, a company specializing in synthetic and portable curling rinks.

A full street curling rink was set up, allowing participants to experience the game. Students then divided into cross-program teams to brainstorm innovative promotional ideas aimed at different target groups. Each team had three minutes to pitch their concepts to the client. The presentations showcased a wide range of ideas, with a notable emphasis on the creative use of augmented and virtual reality.

The client was thoroughly impressed with the ingenuity and diversity of the pitches. The event provided students with valuable, hands-on experience as part of their MKTG 205: Retailing Management course. This successful collaboration highlights the potential for future interdisciplinary projects with other faculties.
