Geoff Tait, Professional Golf Management – Business Administration alumnus, has become one of the most innovative and respected entrepreneurs in Canada’s golf industry. He is the founder and president of Triple Bogey Brewing & Supply Co, a Canadian beverage and apparel brand that has quickly become a staple in golf clubs, curling rinks, and community spaces across the country.
Triple Bogey Brewing, launched in 2014 by Geoff and his wife Megan, was born from Geoff’s vision of a beer tailored specifically for golfers—created by golfers. This idea took root after his previous business, Quagmire Golf, dissolved due to partnership issues. While running Quagmire, Geoff had the extraordinary opportunity to work on a licensing deal with the legendary Arnold Palmer, redesigning Arnold's apparel and accessories line. The experience deepened his connection to the golf world and reinforced his determination to create a brand that resonated with golfers on a personal level.
Despite the skepticism he initially faced, Geoff’s passion for the project drove him to create Triple Bogey’s flagship product, an easy-drinking blonde lager. Since then, the brand has grown substantially, with the original lager stocked in over 600 locations and more than three million cans sold. Today, Triple Bogey offers four distinctive beers—Regular, Light, Amber, and a Non-Alcoholic option—and has expanded to include Transfusions, a line of vodka-based cocktails available in popular flavors like grape and cranberry. The brand also introduced the Azalea and Triple Bogey Half and Half beverages, each nodding to the classic traditions of the golf lifestyle.
Beyond beverages, Triple Bogey features a line of apparel and accessories designed to reflect Geoff’s deep understanding of the golf community. His marketing approach, shaped by his education and experience, has played a vital role in making Triple Bogey a top contender in a highly competitive market. The company's products are available at over 500 golf courses across Ontario and in a variety of establishments, including bars, restaurants, indoor golf facilities, and curling clubs. The brand’s presence extends nationwide to provinces like Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland, with plans to expand into the United States.
Reflecting on his journey, Geoff credits much of his success to the foundation he built at Humber. His three years in the Professional Golf Management program provided him with insights into all facets of the golf business, from operations to marketing. These skills have been essential in understanding the needs of golf courses and developing products that enhance their offerings. The close-knit golf community, along with the connections Geoff has maintained with former classmates and instructors, continues to support his growth and success in the industry.
With his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication, Geoff has created a brand that not only meets the needs of golf enthusiasts but celebrates the sport’s culture. Triple Bogey Brewing stands as a testament to his vision, resilience, and commitment to the golf industry, inspiring others to pursue their dreams in both business and sport.
