Professional Golf Management students in the BPGM 234: Turf Management course gained practical experience by growing different varieties of turf used on golf courses. As part of their studies, students have had the opportunity to explore various turf management principles, including those used on prominent golf courses.

During a tour at Credit Valley Golf and Country Club, students had the opportunity to observe turf care practices in a real-world golf course setting. The experience allowed them to apply theoretical concepts and gain insights into the turf maintenance practices required to keep golf courses in top condition.

The students also showcased their "Build-a-Plot" assignments, where they grew grass plots using Bentgrass or Rough Mix, along with their choice of soil mediums. The hands-on project examined how specific variables like grass species or soil conditions influence turf quality and establishment. While some plots thrived, others did not perform as expected, giving students valuable insights into the challenges of turf management.
