Didi Vaykarova, Talent Acquisition Manager at The Dorchester Collection in London, England, hosted a virtual information session on March 20th for current students and graduates.
The session introduced the Commonwealth Programme, offering students in hospitality, culinary, baking and pastry, and tourism programs the chance to gain experience in London's prestigious hotel properties: The Dorchester, 45 Park Lane, and Coworth Park. Participants can join the program for 12-18 months, gaining operational skills and leadership experience across different departments and is ideal for those aspiring to leadership roles in the hospitality sector.
The presentation spotlighted two Humber alumni, Tia Mistry and Meagan Martinez, currently working with The Dorchester Collection through the Commonwealth Programme. Tia is currently working as a Sous Chef and Meagan as a Pastry Commis Chef.
Students aged 18-30 from commonwealth nations like Canada, New Zealand, and Australia are encouraged to apply for the program and are offered a visa for up to three years. Attendees expressed keen interest in obtaining international professional and personal development opportunities.
