Industry Networking Event Thrives With Record Student Attendance

With the largest turnout to-date, 250 students from Event Management and diploma programs attended this year’s industry networking event on Wednesday, October 2nd. Organized by faculty, the event included 10 industry partners - many from the Program Advisory Committee that represent major sectors in the Event industry.

Specific evaluations in the curriculum were based on the event including industry sector knowledge, as well as general networking and business etiquette. Students were given 4 timed networking appointments followed by an open networking opportunity. Some students even recieved internship and volunteer offers shortly after.

Two student MCs ran the event while 10 student volunteers from other programs assisted with registration and coat check. Alvina Cassiani, James Cullin and Peter Madott, attended and networked with industry partners and guests as well.

Both turnout and feedback from students as well as industry guests were tremendously positive.
