The Longo Faculty of Business launched a Baking Fundamentals program in collaboration with Karis Disability Services. This marks the second jointly developed initiative focused on creating inclusive and meaningful educational experiences for individuals with disabilities, demonstrating a shared commitment to access and equity in learning.

The new program builds on the success of a previous culinary-based skills program, also offered through this partnership. Both initiatives offer students hands-on, industry-relevant training, while providing an opportunity to experience post-secondary learning in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making this launch possible. From Karis, we recognize the efforts of Joy Wilson, April Cleugh, and Alicia Soares, and from the Longo Faculty of Business, Professors Devonne Switzer and Stephanie Mirabelli for their dedication and expertise, along with Senior Dean, Colin Bartley for his ongoing support.

The Baking Fundamentals program will celebrate 14 graduates, each leaving with new skills, greater confidence, and experiences that will help pave the way for future opportunities.
