HLOs:
The Empower Excellence Case Conference, held on October 20th at the Lakeshore Campus, showcased ACE (Achieve, Connect, Empower) Humber’s commitment to professional growth and leadership. The seven-hour event featured six competitive categories: Accounting, Finance, Marketing Management, Technology & Innovation, Management Consulting, and Human Resources Management. Students had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills while networking with industry experts.
This year’s conference marked significant growth, with a 67% increase in participants (65 attendees), double the competitive categories, and quadruple the number of judges. The judging panel included twelve professionals, seven from Ernst & Young, alongside Humber alumni and professors.
Among the highlights was Alfred Diaz Morejon, a Business Administration – Accounting student, who secured first place in the Accounting category. Alfred will represent ACE Humber at the ACE Canada Nationals 2025 in January, alongside nineteen other delegates.
The newly introduced Human Resources Management category, featuring a case on equity, diversity, and inclusion written by Bachelor of Commerce faculty, attracted the highest number of individual competitors. Alexander Atahue, a third-year Bachelor of Commerce – Human Resources Management student, earned third place and commended the conference as a valuable learning and networking experience.
As the only polytechnic ACE chapter, ACE Humber continues to exemplify innovation and excellence, reinforcing its position as a leader in student empowerment. Best wishes to the students competing in the ACE Canada Nationals in January.
A special thank you to the 2024–2025 ACE Humber Executive Team:
Congratulations to all participants and organizers for making this year’s event a success!
