Tourism Students Deliver a Guided Tour of Toronto

Some assignments are best delivered in the field. This is certainly true for the Tour Guiding course, an elective in the third semester of the Tourism-Travel Services Management program.

Kevin Smith, Tourism – Travel Services Management Professor, rode along as students delivered a guided tour of major sites in downtown Toronto, from the CN Tower, Chinatown to the Scotia Bank Arena.

“This is the capstone assignment of the class,” said Smith. “It allows students to apply everything they've learned over the course of the semester regarding site interpretation, storytelling and connecting with clients in a real-world application”.

This assignment is one of many similar experiential opportunities embedded in the curriculum of this dynamic program that has produced some of the most recognized leaders of the tourism industry in both Canada and abroad.
