Tourism Management Grad Wins Baxter Student Ambassador Program

After a month-long competition, graduating Tourism - Travel Services Management student, Trisha Naha, was nominated as the 2021 Baxter Student Ambassador (BSA). The award was granted to Trisha after several competition stages. This included a graded interview from a panel of judges consisting of several faculty members from the Tourism - Travel Services Management program and representatives from Baxter publications - the biggest publisher of travel trade news in Canada.

“Trisha stood out for her exceptional knowledge of current trends, issues and opportunities related to the tourism industry, as well as her future career ambitions,” said Tourism - Travel Services Management Professor Kevin Smith, who administered the program on behalf of Humber College. "She was able to communicate this with ease and a passion that made her really stand out to the panel," added Smith. “We are all extremely proud of Trisha and her accomplishment and are confident that she will do a great job representing our program."

As part of her reward, Trisha is featured in the Travel Courier Magazine. You can see the spread, which highlights her background and career ambitions by clicking here.

The Baxter Student Ambassador program was started as a joint initiative between Humber College and Baxter media in 2014. The program seeks to recognize future leaders in the Tourism industry in collaboration with colleges and universities across Canada. This year, the program was rolled out to fifteen participating colleges and universities countrywide. It is the only travel and tourism student mentoring program of its kind in Canada that offers learning and networking opportunities for aspiring travel industry professionals.
