Student Participate in Virtual Speaker Series with Sports Industry Professionals
125 second-year Sport Management students as part of their Career Development course participated in the Virtual Speaker Series with sports industry professionals, many of whom are graduates of our program. Faculty Sherri Branscombe hosted 3 virtual sessions and 9 industry guests from various sectors and levels of sport to provide insight into the types of careers in sport. The guests came from a variety of sports sectors which ranged from the International Olympic Committee who joined us from Switzerland (during the Olympics!) to professional sports franchises in Toronto, to community-based sport, from able-bodied to mixed ability sport, and all the way out to Regina!
The experience, advice, expertise, and storytelling took us through a range of emotions which got the students even more excited about their future as sports professionals.
