According to the PMI Talent Gap report of June 2021, there is an increase in the number of jobs requiring project management-oriented skills. There will be a global need for 25 million new project professionals by 2030, which means that 2.3 million project managers and changemakers will be needed to fill project management-oriented roles every year to keep up with the demand.
The Project Management Certificate program is comprised of four courses designed to provide you with the knowledge, project skills, leadership, interpersonal skills and tools to manage projects in a variety of fields such as construction, marketing, information technology, pharmacy and event planning. These courses and experiences will enable you to pursue a career in project management leading to professional certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and Professional Management Professional (PMP). The program is based on Project Management Institute's (PMI)® latest Guide to Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)® and its internationally recognized certification programs.

The Project Management Skills Development course will build on learners' interpersonal, organizational, managerial and leadership skills as a project manager. Topics include basic communication for projects, team building, leadership, conflict resolution, change management, managing project interfaces, decision-making and effective negotiating. Primary knowledge areas of The Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK ) - Project Human Resources Management, and Project Communication Management will be covered and reinforced with real-life examples, case studies and exercises. Note: It is highly recommended that students take Project Management Principles as one of their first courses. The Project Management Skills Development course is registered with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is eligible for 42 professional development units (PDUs).
Online courses require students to complete a final exam that is supervised, on campus. If you live more than 100 km from the College or have a documented conflict with the scheduled date of the exam, you are advised to speak with your faculty about completing exams through a proctor 4-6 weeks prior to the scheduled exam. Exams can be done via Virtual Proctor, or an approved Testing Facility (there may be extra costs attached to this process that is the student's responsibility).
This course covers relevant automated and manual techniques used in planning, scheduling and monitoring of human and non-human resources required to deliver the project outcomes. The areas of study include: work breakdown; structure development and use; project resources requirements; planning, acquisition, and allocation to develop a network plan; scheduling and schedule calculations and optimization; resource constrained scheduling; resource levelling; and schedule control. The primary knowledge areas of The Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK ) - Scope - Time and Cost Management will be covered and reinforced by real-life case studies and/or laboratory exercises. Note: students taking this course will need to have the following software requirements: MS Project Professional 2007, MS Visio 2007, MS Excel 2007, and MS PowerPoint 2007. It is highly recommended that students take PMPC 803 Project Management Principles prior to enrolling in PMPC 801. This course is registered with Project Management Institute (PMI) and is eligible for 42 professional development units (PDUs).

Project cost management covers the basics of estimating, budgeting, evaluating, controlling and documenting project costs. The key topics covered are the fundamentals of project finance, project estimating techniques, techniques of economic feasibility assessment, the process of analyzing economic outcomes of alternatives and the basics of project financial reporting. Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to understand the significance of cost management in the project environment. Note: It is highly recommended that students take Project Management Principles as one of their first courses. The Project Cost Management course is registered with PMI and is eligible for 42 PDUs.

Prof. Hossam led many project organizations inside Canada and the US. He used to be the Director of Project Teams across the US for companies in the top 20 worldwide.
Outside of academia, He enjoys sports and games, often combining both interests during his travels.
