International Development Week (IDW) is a Canada-wide event, promoted by Global Affairs Canada as an opportunity to highlight the work of International Development projects undertaken by Canadian agencies across Canada and around the world.
A number of post-secondary education institutions, not-for-profit organizations, and civil society organizations participate in activities all over Canada in the first week of February each year. IDW is an exciting time for Humber’s International Development (ID) students who participated in key events over the course of a week.
ID Students joined other international development students across Ontario at a Career Panel hosted by the Ontario Council for International Cooperation (OCIC) and co-hosted by Humber. The event gave students a chance to interact with professionals in the industry and see a variety of potential career journeys in the industry.
At the Lakeshore campus, students attended the IDW Fair hosted by the International Development Institute (IDI). Current students learned about Humber’s International Development projects from recent graduates who work full-time for the IDI at Humber.
Dil Rajarantha ’22 speaks to Rio Baudish-McCabe and Adam Leslie (current students) about Humber’s project in Kenya.
