Wawanesa Insurance Donates Additional Funds for Best Needs Bursary
To help support students in times of difficulty, Wawanesa Insurance contributed additional funds to replenish their Best Needs Bursary for the Insurance Management – Casualty and Property program (IMPG).
The Best Needs Bursary was established by Wawanesa in the fall of 2019 to help provide IMPG students in need with funds for exam designation fees, textbooks, and other costs. This bursary was used by many students during COVID who fell on hard times over the past few years.
Wawanesa Insurance is a Canadian mutual company owned by its policyholders. It is one of the largest property and casualty insurers in Canada. Established on September 25, 1896, Wawanesa just recently celebrated its 125th anniversary and did so by donating over $700,000 in the community to local communities. They even provided employees with $125.00 to donate to the charity of their choice.
In addition to the Best Needs Bursary, Wawanesa has also established four scholarships for IMPG students, while also providing several full-time roles.
A huge thank you to Wawanesa for their support, and a special thank you goes to Vlad Koltchine, Director of Personal Lines for his continuous effort to go and above and beyond for IMPG students at Humber College.
