Ron Thomas, Insurance Management – Property and Casualty (P&C) Professor, was named Instructor of the Year by the Insurance Institute of Canada (IIC) – GTA Chapter. Ron has been teaching Insurance Against Liability – Part 1 and Essentials of Underwriting within the program for the past six years, where he is widely recognized for his industry knowledge, engaging teaching style, and unwavering commitment to student success. In addition to delivering course content, Ron plays a key role in preparing students for the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation exams, helping them build both the confidence and competence needed to succeed.
This recognition marks the third time Ron has received the Instructor of the Year award, alongside previous recognition from the Hamilton Chapter of the IIC. Beyond the classroom, Ron is an exceptional mentor who is deeply invested in the academic and professional development of his students, consistently bridging theory with real-world application.
