Insurance Management graduate, Philip Kountouris, embarked on a journey to British Columbia, where he established a career as an Insurance and Risk Manager at Broadstreet Properties, a role that places him as the in-house expert overseeing a portfolio exceeding two billion in properties.
In his role, Philip conducts comprehensive risk analyses and evaluates loss exposure, while effectively managing claims and procuring insurance through intermediaries. His adept handling of risk-related matters has contributed to the success and security of Broadstreet Properties.
Beyond his role as a Risk Manager, Philip has made significant contributions to the insurance education landscape. He serves as an instructor for the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) Designation at both the Insurance Institute of British Columbia (IIBC) and Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Additionally, he holds a position as Vice-Chair on the IIBC's Educational Committee, where he plays a crucial role in shaping the educational landscape for future insurance professionals.
Philip's dedication to professional development is evident in his attainment of the CIP and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations, along with holding a Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) license. Currently, he is furthering his academic pursuits by pursuing a Master of Education degree from the University of Ottawa, demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and growth.
