The Insurance Management Program hosted an Insurance Career Day event in partnership with the Insurance Institute's Insurance Career Connections, which connected students with 17 insurance professionals. By way of speed networking, students had direct access to industry expertise across underwriting, subrogation, catastrophic claims, cyber, property restoration, risk management, actuarial, independent adjusting, commercial insurance, and the independent broker channel. The diversity of disciplines represented provided students with a comprehensive view of the insurance ecosystem, and opened their minds to the many different types of career paths they had not previously considered.

Beyond networking, the event delivered tangible value. Students gained practical insight into day-to-day responsibilities, emerging industry trends, technical skill requirements, and career progression strategies. These real conversations help bridge the gap between academic theory and professional practice.

Throughout the year, students often request introductions to professionals in specific areas of interest. Having experts from so many specialized disciplines together in one room created a highly meaningful opportunity for mentorship, relationship-building, and career exploration.

We extend our sincere thanks to the 17 industry professionals who generously shared their time and expertise, including Emma Suschkov, Paul Baines, Robbie Stephens, Urusha Ahmed, Jacob Kurizingal, Jaheed Ceasar, Keith Kitchen, Anne Pathammavong, Harold Agyekum, Ray Kulchyski, Wali Rahnumah, Kai Wen Hew, Parth Shah, Jon Medal, Alfred Desousa, Kenneth Enninful, and Todd Beattie. It was especially meaningful to welcome six alumni back as industry representatives.

A special thank you to Nadia Foisey from Insurance Career Connections for her support in organizing and facilitating this impactful event.
