Insurance Brokers Association Celebrates a Three-Year Partnership with Humber College

In a visit to the Longo Faculty of Business, the Insurance Brokers Association (IBAO) celebrated its partnership with Humber College, marking three years of supporting students in the Insurance Management program. Throughout this period, the IBAO has made significant contributions enabling over 150 students to embark on careers in the broker channel. The IBAO's unwavering commitment has encompassed covering the expenses associated with obtaining the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) Level 1 License - a crucial stepping stone for aspiring insurance professionals.

Recognizing the importance of mentorship and professional development, the IBAO has further bolstered student support through its mentorship program, providing invaluable guidance and industry insights. Additionally, the association has organized engaging initiatives such as a dedicated college day and invitations for students to attend the IBAO conference in October.

On site to celebrate the partnership included:

  • Colin Simpson, IBAO CEO
  • Brett Boadway, IBAO COO
  • Joseph Carnevale, IBAO Former President
  • Gabriela Bejarano, Project Coordinator

IBAO is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization acting on behalf of Ontario’s insurance brokerages, large and small. Their collective strength allows them to shape industry strategy and regulation, build on the quality of the broker profession, raise public awareness of the broker value proposition and advocate for brokers and consumers across Ontario.

The Longo Faculty of Business expresses its gratitude to IBAO Insurance for its steadfast dedication and unwavering support of its students. Their commitment ensures that aspiring insurance professionals receive the necessary resources and opportunities to thrive in their chosen career paths.
