In a valuable engagement, Brett Boadway, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO), visited the Insurance Management program on September 18th.
This visit underscores the strong partnership between IBAO and Humber, a collaboration that has flourished for nearly five years. During this time, IBAO has consistently supported the students of the Insurance Management program in various ways, including sponsoring the costs associated with obtaining the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) Level One license.
IBAO extends further support by providing students with complimentary passes to their annual IBAO Convention held in October, a significant event in the insurance industry calendar. In addition, IBAO has played a vital role in facilitating a Broker Mentorship Program, offering students invaluable mentorship experiences.
Thanks to the immense support from IBAO, over 60% of students from the Insurance Management program have successfully transitioned into the broker channel upon graduation. This is a testament to the positive impact and guidance provided by IBAO, enhancing career prospects and opportunities for aspiring insurance professionals.
A profound appreciation is extended to Colin Simpson, CEO of IBAO, and Brett Boadway, COO, for their visionary leadership and dedication in steering these initiatives that have enriched the educational journey of Humber's Insurance Management program students. The Longo Faculty of Business extends gratitude to IBAO Insurance for its steadfast commitment to nurturing the next generation of professionals in the insurance industry.
