Global Pathways in Insurance: Humber Graduate Builds Career with Marsh in Dubai
The Insurance Management program is proud to highlight the international success of Mateen Hosseiny, whose career journey reflects both ambition and adaptability in today’s global insurance marketplace.
After graduating from the Insurance Management program in 2023, Mateen built valuable experience in Canada’s personal and commercial lines markets, working as a broker and developing a strong technical foundation in coverage, client advisory, and risk placement. Eager to expand his professional horizons, he made a bold move and relocated to Dubai to pursue new opportunities in the global insurance sector.
Today, Mateen serves as a Business Development Manager with Marsh in Dubai, where he advises corporate clients across the UAE and the broader region on commercial insurance solutions and strategic risk management. His role reflects both his technical expertise and his ability to build trusted client relationships in a competitive international market.
Mateen’s path to insurance was shaped by his entrepreneurial background. Before entering the industry, he owned and operated a marketing agency in Toronto, supporting small and mid-sized businesses with go-to-market strategy, digital advertising, and growth planning. Working closely with business owners gave him firsthand insight into the operational and financial risks organizations face as they scale. This experience ultimately inspired him to pursue an insurance career.
Mateen has also completed his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and obtained his RIBO Level 1 licence.
The faculty of the Insurance Management Program is extremely proud of his accomplishments and looks forward to following his continued success in the insurance industry and on the world stage.
