Get Into Insurance Event a Success

On February 11th, the Insurance Management program hosted "Get into Insurance." The event was aimed at presenting students with alternative career paths that exist in the insurance industry.

The event consisted of an insightful presentation from the Manager of Career Connections at the Insurance Institute of Canada, Trevor Buttrum. Trevor presented many interesting facts about the industry including its current talent shortage with over 27% of the current workforce deemed to retire in the next five years.

The event also featured an industry panel from technical thought leaders including Gavin Mascarenhas from travelers Insurance, Daiana Steele from Northbridge Financial, Sam Jazayeri from Prime Service Brokerage, Amrit Singh from Crawford & Company and Vinita Jajware from the Toronto Insurance Women’s Association.

The event was a massive success! Thank you to all of the student volunteers and Professor Annette Palalas.
